Holly & Doug were married at St Peter’s Church in More, Shropshire and then at Lower Brookshill the family home a short drive away. It was one of the most rural weddings I had shot and the weather was looking ominous as I arrived at Bishops Castle to shoot Holly getting ready with her bridesmaids. The village is extremely beautiful in any weather. It absolutley heaved with rain as everyone was being pampered and very kindly stopped in time for everyone to get into the fabulous vintage cars that both Holly and Doug’s fathers owned and drove to the church. After the ceremony we had a small window to grab a few photos and then the hilarious dash to cars as the heavens opened again.
The reception was arranged as a camping/festival set up with a labyrinth of tepees installed around the gardens. This was an incredible feat considering both the gardens and the property had only just been developed by Doug’s parents. The setting in the stunning Shropshire landscape wasn’t spoiled by the weather and there enough glimpses of sunshine to be able to get some shots outside too. Holly & Doug were really good fun and their laid back attitude to the intense weather made for a great wedding!
